It’s the late 90s. Under the equator, in the Australian sun, Milo Coleman is honing his craft as a hair stylist and an idea is beginning to blossom: an ambition to create a home for classic, enduring style and grooming. Once back in the UK, he opens his first gentlemen’s salon in Kent.

By the time Milo opens his third shop, in Brighton, he has met his wife Emma; a fellow hairdresser with a wealth of experience working for John Frieda in London, styling some of the biggest stars of the era.

The new shop became more than a destination for first-class hairdressing; it also became a home for head-to-toe style and grooming.

Drawing on their mutual love of clothing, Milo and Emma created an environment where people would come in to get their hair cut, but they could also browse hand-made clothes, shoes, bags and hand crafted accessories. It was a new idea, and it had its own aesthetic, contemporary but classic, honing in on style that doesn’t date. And it worked.

In keeping with the head-to-toe style and grooming objective, 5 years ago Milo’s created their own brand of Milo’s styling cream for use in their cutting rooms. They wanted something that offered control, but left hair looking healthy, not greasy. Sales of the cream in the Milo’s chain defied their modest expectations. Now, bringing Milo’s Styling Cream to a wider public, by offering it up for sale in the salon and online, is an organic and assured development.
